Students participated in a three day after school program called Safe Sitter. It is designed to prepare students in grade 6-8 to be safe when they are home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. This program teaches safety skills, child care skills, first aid, rescue skills, and life/business skills. Students learn through discussion, role play and organized games. It was sponsored by IU Health and taught by a certified safe sitter instructor. Graduation was held January 12 at Throop Elementary.
Participants included: Garnetta Boyd, Lilian Burgess, Landen Baker, Kailee Hedge, Audrey Bosley, and Josie Keith.
