Background Checks

Paoli Community School Corporation (PCSC) takes seriously the federal, state and local requirements to thoroughly check the backgrounds of each individual supervising or working near students.

Who should complete a background check?

1. Anyone wishing to be hired as a substitute teacher
(Application and all other requirements listed HERE must also be completed and submitted) 

2. If you have been provisionally hired as an employee and directed to complete the Expanded Criminal History check.

3. If you are an unpaid employee/volunteer who will not be under constant and direct supervision of a certified staff member when interacting with students or are otherwise required to complete the Expanded Criminal History check.

VOLUNTEERS: An Expanded Criminal History Check should not be completed for individuals who will be under the constant and direct supervision of a certified staff member at all times when interacting with students. Instead proceed to the Volunteer Page

IMPORTANT NOTE: Two options are available at the following link:
A. Certified Employment: Select this option for a licensed teacher or administrator.
B. Non-Certified Employment: Select this option for a substitute teacher, cafeteria, custodial, maintenance, coach, unpaid employee/volunteer, vendor, etc.

Background/Criminal History Checks must be paid for online by the individual using a credit or debit card. The cost is between $34 and $39. In some circumstances, depending upon the number of states and/or counties in which an individual lived, additional costs may apply.
